Do you think that you will see another Super Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit, MI again in your lifetime?

The last Super Bowl (Super Bowl XL) was at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan between the AFC Championship Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFC Champions Seattle Seahawks and it was the first Super Bowl in the Midwest since Super Bowl XXVI was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I could see Detroit hosting the Super Bowl again in my lifetime and I would like to see Super Bowl L (Super Bowl 50) at Ford Field but I think it will be a very long time until Detroit host the Super Bowl again and I think it will host the Super Bowl after Super Bowl LXXV (Super Bowl 75).

Probably. Super Bowl XVI was held in Pontiac, Michigan back in 1982. Super Bowl XL was held just 24 years later in Detroit.

sgoldperson, what snow storm do you write of? Detroit got an inch of snow. Michigan can easily handle 10 inches of snow – they keep the roads clear. Interestingly, if a warm weather area received an inch or two of snow, which occassionally happens, it would cripple the area.

And, what if the NFL had selected New Orleans as the host of Super Bowl XL? New Orleans has been the host of the Super Bowl NINE times, but, due to the WEATHER (Katrina), would not have been able to host Super Bowl XL. Detroit is in a very low risk area for natural disasters…almost zero chance of hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, forest fires, mudslides, etc., all problems plaguing other areas.
