any bowling tips?
I am a bowler and have been for about 5 years. I have always thrown the ball straight down to the pocket and I just learned and am trying to master the curve ball. Any suggestions? I have been told that I have great balance and a pretty good stance. Also, I am going out for my high school team what should i expect?? Help please and thankyou <3
You should never turn your shoulders, especially when releasing the ball. This will cause you to “chicken wing” the shot. A simple way I tell people that ask how to throw a hook, is to keep your hand “underneath” the ball ( with the ball on your hand). Then simply take your normal approach, and rotate the ball at release like you are turning a doorknob.
Left handers have a natural hook because of this process. Right handers should rotate their hand counter clockwise. The hand should move from the underside of the ball to your hand being in the “handshake” postion after the ball comes off your hand.
This takes years to master.
As for your high school team, most schools have very competitive players. Simply do your best. If you do not make the team, keep practicing. There is always the next year.
